Crown RR 5275S Series – More for the Money
|
When it comes to high through-put lift truck applications, Crown Equipment Corporation’s RR 5275S won’t take a back seat to any other reach truck. In addition to industry-leading performance, the RR 5275S offers operators a chance to take a seat. Crown, a global leader in material handling equipment, designed its RR 5275S to tackle a variety of applications from putaways and letdowns to transporting while focusing on the customer’s need for performance, productivity and value.
“In these high through-put areas, operators are often on their feet ten hours a day, so anything we can do to improve their comfort, such as adding the seat, will enhance their productivity,” said Product Manager Maria Schwieterman. “The competitors are still trying to catch up to our standard reach truck model in terms of performance. The seat, as well as other ergonomic, safety and performance enhancements, makes the RR 5275S unmatched in its class.”
Adding the seat doesn’t mean adding a lot of expense, according to Schwieterman. “Reach truck users are always surprised how little it costs to own a truck with a seat compared to a conventional reach truck,” she says.
Performance on the RR 5275S is supported through Crown Technovation™, the fusion of technology and innovation. Access 1 2 3® Comprehensive System Control keeps all of the RR 5200 Series systems in constant communication for safe, optimized performance as conditions change. Access 1 2 3 technology also works with the Crown-built AC motor and AC traction control to provide safety advantages and to maximize vehicle performance. Inside the operator compartment, Crown’s Variable Side-Stance gives the operator five solid points of contact. Crown’s unique design limits the necessity for operators to change position during direction changes, increasing productivity and operator comfort.
Ventura Foods, LLC., has operated a number of RR 5200 Series S class models in its 180,000 square foot distribution center in Birmingham, Alabama. Distribution Manager Mark Harlen says all 19 operators are perfectly happy with the S class model. “Operators are comfortable throughout their shift. The seat makes all the difference,” said Harlen. He says the trucks come equipped to meet operator and warehousing needs. “Crown’s Rider Reach trucks have the ability to withstand the daily punishment of regular use with minimal downtime. In fact, planned maintenance has been sufficient in keeping the trucks operating and on schedule.”
Crown designed value into every facet of its rider reach truck, starting with the operator compartment. Crown’s RR 5275S provides 45 percent more foot room over competitor’s trucks. The RR 5275S also includes the Crown Multi-Task Control Handle, which allows operators to blend tasks efficiently and effectively. Crown’s shock-reducing floorboard design and exclusive Entry Bar Safety Switch promote safe and effective foot positioning during operation.
“The S-Class offers best-in-class travel speeds, load capacity and operator comfort,” said Schwieterman. “Operators will find that the adjustable steering tiller, armrest and seat provide them with an optimal work environment. The ability to select multiple positions when working (sit, lean or stand) gives them the opportunity to select the best position to complete their tasks, and the shock-reducing floorboard includes multiple pedal and foot positioning options. Owners will find the RR 5275S an affordable and productive addition to their fleet.” About Crown Equipment Corporation Crown is the number one brand of electric lift trucks in the United States and the sixth largest lift truck manufacturer in the world.
