Counterbalanced trucks are the workhorses of the industry, driven hard every day. Crown's range of counterbalanced trucks – sit-down versions SC 4200 and FC 4500, and stand-up version RC 5500 – are built to satisfy the demands of both the application and the operator. One of the highlight features of these products is Crown's exclusive Intrinsic Stability System that gives stability and control advantages for common challenges.
The Intrinsic Stability System uses multiple combinations of the following elements:
- System Controlled Hydraulic Speeds
The hydraulic system automatically controls tilt and limits side-shift speed to increase vehicle stability.
- Travel Speed Control
Travel speeds and braking are automatically controlled based on fork height, load weight and other operating conditions.
- Tilt Interlock
When forks and mast and tilted more than two degrees forward, a tilt interlock keeps forks from raising above free lift.
- Cornering Speed Control
The truck monitors the weight on the forks, the angle of the steer wheels and the speed of the truck, and uses this information to automatically adjust the speed in turns during forward travel.
- Ramp Speed Control
The inteligent control system maintains the truck at a constant speed on a ramp so it won't gain or lose momentum, It also automatically holds a truck stopped on an incline until the operator initiates forward or reverse travel. The Intrinsic Stability System is engineered to minimise the causes of unstable conditions. This complements safe, efficient operating practices that build the operator's confidence, rather than test it.
